Scrapbooking Essentials: how to use eyelets

Sometimes you see projects and observe just finished. They are probably fine as they are, but a little dressing not never hurts anything, right? One of the ways that you can dress up is plain with small eyelets. They are not difficult to use when you know how, so here are some tips to get started!

There are different sizes of eyelets of scrapbooking, as 1/8 "and 3/16". This dimension refers to the hole at the center of the eye, not the outer diameter of the design. They come in all shapes and sizes, similar to scrapbooking Brads.

It is a question that I get asked a lot, "these are for use on fabric or clothing?" Certainly we all see eyelets curtains all the time, hats, belts and shoes & sweatshirts where pass strings. In general, it is a more robust type of scrapbooking eyelet to eyelet and must be connected with a special setter that can pass through thick materials. So while it might be able to use eyelets scrapbooking on cloth, probably not stand up well to the harsh environment of wash and wear for a long time.

Scrapbooking eyelets are usually a weaker metal grommets clothing and can be easily connected with a simple setter metal craft and a hammer. There are also loops that can be set with a ball point pen tip. They are called Quicklets and are made by flagship Outlet. The metal is very soft and is marked so that the rear flat easily when pushed on steadily with a tip of the pen.

Depending on your budget, there are several types of eyelet Setters available on the market. There are setters silent are a type of setter, spring harvest to dile, a type of compression tool, but the most common and cheapest is the tool setter eyelet. A metal eyelet is a setter took about 5 "long with a special tip that fits in the hole on the back of the eye.

To set an eyelet, make a small hole in your paper and place the eye through the hole. Then flip the paper & eyelet on a solid surface. Place the tip of the set method in the hole, giving the top of it stops a shot or two with a hammer by trade. This is everything! The rear of the eye will be out Konk is the eye in place. If you need a clean look on the back of your project, consider buying or finishing washers rivets. They are placed on the back of the eye before it.

Eyelets are often used for fastening tapes just as on clothing. Make a great landscaping to the upper part of a tag and also work well to combine several pieces of paper. I'm a big staple for wardrobe of every paper craftsman, so you give them a whirl now hope!
